Project Overview

Fencepac was engaged by the Acciona Georgiou Joint Venture to deliver the design, supply, and construction of noise barriers as part of the Coomera Connector Stage 1 project. The works formed a critical component of a major transport infrastructure corridor, requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders, strict compliance standards, and integration with concurrent civil works.

The Challenge

This project required Fencepac to respond to real site conditions, stakeholder requirements, and delivery constraints while maintaining quality, safety, and program performance. Our role was not just to build the scope, but to manage the work in a way that kept the broader project moving.

Our Approach

Fencepac coordinated the project through disciplined planning, close communication with the client and adjacent work fronts, and practical site leadership. Design, procurement, programming, and installation were aligned so the team could adapt to changing conditions without losing control of safety or quality.

The Result

The finished outcome reflects what clients expect from Fencepac: a well-managed project, a compliant and durable installation, and a team that can work through complex site conditions while protecting program certainty.

Key Challenges

  • Complex stakeholder and design interface — multiple external stakeholders and design interfaces, resulting in challenges with drawing revisions, approval processes, and information flow to site
  • Quality and defect management — significant effort required to manage panel defects, finishing quality, and compliance with specifications, with late-stage defect identification leading to increased rectification labour
  • Large-scale variations including bridge works managed across multiple work fronts, with documentation and accessibility of updated drawings presenting on-site challenges

Positive Outcomes

  • Strong client relationship maintained — open communication, responsiveness and solutions-focused approach resulted in strong client feedback and ongoing engagement
  • Effective site leadership fostering a positive safety culture, consistent communication, and proactive problem-solving across crews and subcontractors
  • 469 apprentice hours completed and 1,666 Indigenous participation hours achieved, demonstrating commitment to local participation and skills development
  • 267 audits, inspections and pre-starts completed, reinforcing a structured approach to safety and quality management
