Project Overview

Full lifecycle delivery of noise barriers including design development and certification of noise wall systems, manufacture and installation of concrete panels, construction of bored pile foundations and in-situ concrete sills, and coordination with other contractors for footing works and interface zones. All works delivered in compliance with TMR specifications and stringent quality requirements.

The Challenge

This project required Fencepac to respond to real site conditions, stakeholder requirements, and delivery constraints while maintaining quality, safety, and program performance. Our role was not just to build the scope, but to manage the work in a way that kept the broader project moving.

Our Approach

Fencepac coordinated the project through disciplined planning, close communication with the client and adjacent work fronts, and practical site leadership. Design, procurement, programming, and installation were aligned so the team could adapt to changing conditions without losing control of safety or quality.

The Result

The finished outcome reflects what clients expect from Fencepac: a well-managed project, a compliant and durable installation, and a team that can work through complex site conditions while protecting program certainty.

Key Challenges

  • Significant program delays — completion occurred over three years beyond the original Date for Practical Completion
  • Complex utility relocations, service conflicts, and design approval delays across multiple disciplines
  • All works undertaken adjacent to or within active motorway corridors requiring strict traffic management staging and limited work windows
  • Multiple contractors operating simultaneously — coordination with footing and civil works by others while working around evolving construction sequencing and design changes

Positive Outcomes

  • Delivered all noise barrier works in compliance with project specifications, TMR standards, and contractual requirements
  • Maintained consistent construction quality across all installations, meeting both acoustic performance criteria and project finish requirements
  • Worked collaboratively with the principal contractor and adjacent work fronts to manage interfaces, sequencing changes, and access constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to sustain performance over a prolonged delivery period, including multiple remobilisations and revised staging
  • Adapted to ongoing program changes while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all work areas
