Currell Circuit, Samford Valley

Project Overview
Design and construct of a reinforced earth Keystone Elite masonry retaining wall to remediate a significant 2022 slope failure at a residential property. Wall approximately 90m in length and up to 3.5m in height, stabilising the dwelling and protecting an estimated asset value in excess of $2.5M.
The Challenge
This project required Fencepac to respond to real site conditions, stakeholder requirements, and delivery constraints while maintaining quality, safety, and program performance. Our role was not just to build the scope, but to manage the work in a way that kept the broader project moving.
Our Approach
Fencepac coordinated the project through disciplined planning, close communication with the client and adjacent work fronts, and practical site leadership. Design, procurement, programming, and installation were aligned so the team could adapt to changing conditions without losing control of safety or quality.
The Result
The finished outcome reflects what clients expect from Fencepac: a well-managed project, a compliant and durable installation, and a team that can work through complex site conditions while protecting program certainty.
⚡Key Challenges
- ▸Managing excavated spoil and reinstating engineered fill on steep, constrained batters
- ▸More than 800m³ of engineered fill placed under controlled conditions
- ▸All construction undertaken from the rear due to limited access and dwelling at the toe of the structure
Positive Outcomes
- Completed within budget and on par with the program
- Zero lost-time injuries and no plant rollover incidents
- Significantly mitigates risk of future failure events — otherwise $1M+ remediation costs
- High-quality structural and aesthetic finish despite piecemeal construction methodology
