Edmonton to Gordonvale Bruce Highway

Project Overview
Supplied and installed 330m of durable concrete rail corridor barrier to meet stringent safety and engineering standards. Designed and reconstructed a timber noise barrier to integrate with the existing wall, ensuring consistent acoustic performance and visual alignment.
The Challenge
This project required Fencepac to respond to real site conditions, stakeholder requirements, and delivery constraints while maintaining quality, safety, and program performance. Our role was not just to build the scope, but to manage the work in a way that kept the broader project moving.
Our Approach
Fencepac coordinated the project through disciplined planning, close communication with the client and adjacent work fronts, and practical site leadership. Design, procurement, programming, and installation were aligned so the team could adapt to changing conditions without losing control of safety or quality.
The Result
The finished outcome reflects what clients expect from Fencepac: a well-managed project, a compliant and durable installation, and a team that can work through complex site conditions while protecting program certainty.
⚡Key Challenges
- ▸Working adjacent to an active railway corridor and a school — meticulous planning and strict safety controls
- ▸Wet piles encountered during drilling required immediate reassessment of methodology
- ▸Tight windows for on-site works during school holidays requiring carefully sequenced construction
Positive Outcomes
- Delivered in line with client's safety, engineering, design and aesthetic requirements
- Works completed during school holidays to minimise disruption to school and residents
- Consistent, robust and visually aligned noise barrier outcome supporting corridor safety and local amenity
