SEQ Stabling Yard Project
Project Overview
Construct security fencing for 4 new purpose-built Queensland Rail stabling yards and associated infrastructure. Scope included perforated-mesh security sheeting sourced overseas and noise barrier design added outside original scope.
The Challenge
This project required Fencepac to respond to real site conditions, stakeholder requirements, and delivery constraints while maintaining quality, safety, and program performance. Our role was not just to build the scope, but to manage the work in a way that kept the broader project moving.

- ▸High-voltage overhead power supply and signalling systems active throughout — strict exclusion zones and safety protocols for all overhead works
- ▸Designs unfinished at engagement and changed frequently — non-standard materials with longer lead times and additional QA certification required
- ▸Multiple offshore and Australian suppliers to manage — perforated-mesh security sheeting not available domestically

- Delivered cost-saving innovations including cheaper manufacturing options and cost-effective gate/motor alternatives
- Performance on this project led directly to being awarded the $10.6M Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 2 contract
